Guideline 4 – equal opportunity and discrimination cases

Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) will make a grant of legal assistance for an equal opportunity or discrimination case if VLA is satisfied that you meet both of the following tests:

  1. Financial eligibility – you must meet the VLA means test.
  2. How will your case turn out (merit) – there must be a strong prospect that there will be a benefit to you, and your case must the State reasonableness test.

Note

The State reasonableness test applies to this guideline, not the Commonwealth merits test.
